It has been a year since the South African singer and songwriter Brendan Praise lost his mother, and he decided to remember her loving memory on the day she passed on.

On Tuesday, 9 September 2025, the former Idols SA contestant marked his mother's death anniversary a year after he and his lovely wife, Mpoomy Ledwaba, announced the passing of the matriarch.

In an Instagram post he shared, Brenden posted pictures of some of the memories he had created with his mom before she died on his Instagram page and captioned them:

On Tuesday, 10 September 2024, Briefly News had previously reported that Brenden Praise's wife, Mpoomy Ledwaba, shared the news of the passing of her mother-in-law, Debra N Ledwaba, on her Instagram page.

Mpoomy, who previously penned a sweet birthday message for her hubby in February 2025, also explained how she fought a good fight before she departed from this earth, and that they will always miss and remember her.

She had said:

"It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing of our mother. Mama left us in the early hours of Sunday, 8 September. She fought a long and good fight and even in the midst of pain brought laughter and smiles to her family. She is safe in the arms of her Father. Thank you for all your love, calls and care. Details regarding services and the funeral will be shared."
