Mpho Popps has returned with another hilarious skit and once again used Papa Penny as inspiration.
The award-winning comedian and member of the PNC collective reenacted Papa Penny's speech during a virtual Portfolio Committee meeting on 9 September 2025. The meeting was held to evaluate the performance of the Department of Sports, Arts, and Culture..
In his address to Gayton McKenzie, the musician-turned-politician challenged the Minister to invest in rural areas, stating that it's where many talented artists and athletes reside:
"Come to us in the village, bring everything back, our culture and soccer, everything must happen in the villages."
In another impressive impersonation of the Shangaan Disco King, Popps added a comedic twist to Papa Penny's plea to Gayton McKenzie and his department.
