Actor Sipho Ndlovu has broken his silence in a raw, emotional podcast interview about the aftermath of false gender-based violence allegations made against him by his ex-girlfriend, Shanice. Sitting across from host Lungelo KM on the Engineer Your Life podcast, which premiered on 4 August 2026, Ndlovu opened up about how the accusations reshaped every corner of his life.

How the allegations silenced Ndlovu's career

The moment the allegations became public, Ndlovu says, the industry turned its back on him almost overnight. "Everything stopped. Not a call. No invites to premieres, no work opportunities. People lost trust in me," he said, his voice heavy with the weight of that period.

He also reflected on how much worse things could have been physically. Ndlovu described feeling a deep sense of relief that the incident did not occur at Shanice's home, telling the host that had he been there, an arrest would have been inevitable. "I was going to be arrested. I would be going maybe 10 years in jail," he said, adding that men are often presumed guilty in these situations regardless of the facts. "You can take a knife and slaughter it. That's us, men. We take a lot, bro."

Now, Ndlovu says he is focused on a fresh start. Since Shanice issued a public apology admitting she had lied, Ndlovu says he is working hard to shift his focus forward rather than stay anchored in the pain. "At the moment, I'm in a space where I have to let other things go and start a new chapter. Every day I fight not to lose myself because that's the biggest battle," he shared.

Despite the turbulence, his passion for his craft remains intact. Reflecting on an upcoming opportunity, he said: "When I got the call, I told myself, 'Let's go show South Africa what we can do.' I knew it was going to be something big."
