DJ Zinhle has finally spoken out about the ongoing chatter surrounding her marriage to rapper Mordah Bongz, pushing back against claims that she has been disrespecting him. The conversation unfolded on the L-Tido Podcast, which premiered on 5 August 2026, and it has since set social media alight.
Seated in an animal-print chair on the podcast set, the award-winning DJ and entrepreneur addressed the public head-on, saying that every decision she makes is rooted in one thing: her daughter Cairo's wellbeing.
DJ Zinhle on co-parenting with the Forbes family
Zinhle explained that her continued closeness with the Forbes family — Kairo's paternal side — is not a sign of disrespect towards Mordah Bongz, but rather a deliberate choice to give her daughter a stable and loving environment.

"I know that a lot of people have questioned my decisions, especially around my marriage with Mordah Bongz and maybe seeming like I'm disrespecting him as my husband in whatever I'm doing," she said. "Literally, nothing that I'm doing... is really to just make sure that Kairo is okay."
She went further, addressing the question many fans have been asking publicly: why does she continue to keep the Forbes family so close?
"What do I do with the folks? Do I throw them away? And then what happens to my child? It's not logical," she stated plainly.
Zinhle was equally clear that she is not seeking forgiveness for her choices.
"I'm not saying I'm apologetic about it, but I just need people to have that understanding that literally every single decision we are making is for Kairo to be okay."
Mzansi reacts to DJ Zinhle's explanation
Not everyone was convinced by her reasoning. Mzansi took to X to share their thoughts, and the reactions were divided.
@_Spade101 was blunt:
"If your wife puts you in this situation, she doesn't respect you. No matter how she puts it and because you're a dimwit, you will be a 'real' man and understand."
@SaniExplore disagreed with Zinhle's framing entirely: "Nope, she is belittling herself."
@Thulaganyo_G was equally dismissive:
"As a Zulu girl who grew up in KZN, she is talking rubbish!!!"
@g4swater raised a concern about the broader family dynamics:
"Bongani's daughter from another woman will hate you for removing her from his father's life."
@MakhasiO took a more detached view:
"Marriages are overrated 😴"
