Zinhle explained that a candid chat with a woman known as Aunt Portia, who is Nomdeni's aunt, at a restaurant was the turning point. At 32 years old, Zinhle recalled being told bluntly: "My sister, so you're just going to make money for yourself for the rest of your life? Please, go and have a baby. Even if the father's not involved, it doesn't matter. You'll be fine."

The same day she received Aunt Portia's advice, Zinhle said she went back to the late Kiernan "AKA" Forbes and told him directly that she wanted a baby. His response, delivered with typical AKA humour, did not disappoint.
"Oh, you're old already, so we definitely need to," he reportedly told her, before adding, "Oh, yeah, you're old, so yeah, let me help you with that."
