Yung Miami Addresses Tyla Chanel Song Drama in Complex Interview: “I Moved On”

Yung Miami is breaking her silence on the Tyla-Chanel drama, and her responses are doing plenty of talking on their own.
In a candid sit-down filmed for Complex Music, the City Girls rapper addressed the widely discussed ‘miscommunication’ between herself and South African superstar Tyla. Both artists released songs referencing Chanel, which sparked online speculation that one had lifted the concept from the other. Seated on a red velvet couch in an exposed-brick studio setting, Yung Miami was direct:
"I was a Chanel. No. No, I would never do that. And she's cool. She's so good."
The two have never spoken
What caught many fans off guard was Yung Miami's admission that the situation was never actually resolved between the two women.

"We haven't had a chance to. I never spoke to her after that. We never spoke at all. The situation was what the situation was. Um, that's just what it was. I moved on."
When the interviewer pointed out that Tyla had at least engaged positively with Yung Miami's song Spend Dat, doing a TikTok to it, Yung Miami's response was notably flat. ‘I'm sure she does,’ she said, before adding that Tyla ‘has been very supportive.’

Fans split over Yung Miami's tone
Reactions online ranged from amused to sceptical. Some felt Yung Miami's nonchalance read as thinly veiled irritation, while others thought fans were simply looking for drama where there was none.
Nightride wrote:

TweetsAreWind pointed out an apparent contradiction:
