MaYeni's absence from son Mpumelelo's lobola negotiations for Amahle Biyela was enough to make people talk. However, when she attended Tirelo Kale's, it raised many questions about whether the wife of polygamist Musa Mseleku has favourites.

The matter came to a head on the show when MaYeni addressed it directly, confronting Musa Mseleku over being left out of the process entirely. The situation drew fresh attention after Mpumelelo paid lobola for his long-term partner and baby mama, Tirelo Kale, on 3 September 2026, with MaYeni attending that ceremony in Rustenburg.

MaYeni's Selective Attendance Questioned

For many viewers, the contrast was glaring. If MaYeni could make the trip to Rustenburg for Tirelo's lobola ceremony, her absence from Amahle's negotiations looked less like an oversight and more like a deliberate choice. X user @KhananiShingan1, who sparked the conversation, put it plainly: "I know if it was Macele acting like that towards her daughter-in-law, y'all weren't gonna be defending her like this."

She later added that despite being a fan of MaYeni, she felt the wife was not being fair to Amahle.

Mzansi divided over double standards

The post struck a nerve, drawing a range of responses from fans who either defended MaYeni or agreed that a double standard was at play.

@Reloadedd94 pointed to broader tensions, noting: "They're already judging her for not wanting Lwandle's GF even tho she's justified because of those DNA results, but because it's their fav they're fighting for her down to make her look like an Angel despite Vuyokazi exposing her tactics last year."

@Promise14364211 echoed the selective-attendance argument: "Because if it was really about Mpumelelo and Mseleku, she wouldn't have gone to Rustenburg either! But it's definitely about Amahle!"

@Zamayworld kept it brief: "Yep, they would be dragging her to the mud."

@lulushezi urged patience: "Guys, can we watch the full episode first and come back with discourse?"

@Ndenginr flipped the script entirely, writing: "I know if the daughter-in-law at the receiving end was Tirelo, y'all weren't gonna be defending her like this."

@TZethi59954 pushed back at the original poster: "You are obsessed with Mayeni," to which @KhananiShingan1 replied that she does love MaYeni, but felt this time she was in the wrong.
