Long before she became a household name, Connie Ferguson was cutting her teeth in front of the camera as a continuity presenter on CCV-TV. A throwback clip from those early days has resurfaced online, sending fans straight into their feelings about a bygone era of South African television.

The footage dates back to Connie's time at CCV-TV, the SABC channel that broadcast in the early to mid-90s, before being restructured into what is now SABC 1. In the clip, a young Connie appears on screen alongside fellow veteran broadcaster and TV producer Sello Scott, carrying out her presenting duties with the composed, polished style that defined local television in that decade.

It was on this very channel that Connie's acting career would soon take flight. Generations premiered on CCV-TV in 1994, and Connie stepped into the role of Karabo Moroka, becoming one of the soap opera's most beloved and recognisable stars. She held that role for many years and returned to it at various points throughout the show's run.

The video serves as a reminder of just how far her journey has taken her. From reading out programme schedules on screen to building her own entertainment production company, Connie has become one of the most enduring figures in the South African entertainment industry.
