Cassper Nyovest has handed Mzansi a confession nobody asked for, and the internet is not impressed. The rapper admitted that his 2020 track Indoda, from his album Any Minute Now, was inspired by a real-life experience of falling in love with a female friend while he was in a committed relationship.

The reveal came on 23 September 2026, when a curious fan on X posted, "Cass please tell us about Indoda; what was going on there nkabi yam." The rapper did not dodge the question.

"Eish. That song is deep cause it's written from a real place about something I experienced. Falling in love with a female friend while I was in a relationship with someone I promised forever. Deep song. Mlindo wrote the hook and I resang it. My best vocal performance as well," Cassper wrote.

Mzansi reacts to Cassper's confession

Rather than receiving the sympathy he may have expected, fans turned on Cassper for seemingly romanticising a painful chapter that involved real people.

The post drew significant attention on X, with the majority of responses pushing back hard at Cassper for opening old wounds in what many felt was an attempt to reframe his past behaviour as art.
