Speaking to her host, Anele shared that she has never been with a man who earned more than her. She pointed out that some partners may have appeared wealthier, but their money was generational wealth rather than something they built independently. She wrote:

"I have not been with a man that had more money than me in my life. The ones that presented like that more money, that was family money. That was generational money."

She added that this dynamic has actually made her relationships more enjoyable, because neither party came in with financial expectations from the other. She also noted that she began earning her own income at just 16 years old. She said:

"I would go in I want nothing, you want nothing. Let's just see where it goes. The only thing I am very direct about is I'm not going to look after you.”
