Leon Schuster is not holding back. The veteran South African comedian has gone public with his displeasure at Rassie Erasmus and Springbok captain Andre Esterhuizen after the national side fell 42-38 to Australia at Optus Stadium in Perth.

The comedian turned to Facebook to share his frustration, directing his anger at what he viewed as reckless team management by the coaching staff. In his view, a side holding the Rugby World Cup title has no business treating a Test match as a practice run.

"SHAME on the PRIDE of the SPRINGBOK! You do not 'gamble' if you are no. 1, if you are the holder of the WORLD CUP!" Schuster wrote.
He went on to say the squad was underprepared, adding:
"I predicted the fiasco; I took a lot of criticism in my film career, and Rassie is NOT above criticism! This was a WEAK team, rested – too late, too little!"
He also took direct aim at the captaincy call, stating:
"Wrong captain, wrong plan. And this against the Wallabies that did tremendous damage against the Boks today!"
Schuster posted the message in Afrikaans as well, ending it with a sporting acknowledgement:
"Geluk aan n gedugte, dapper Wallaby-span!!" (Congratulations to a formidable, brave Wallaby team.)
