The post, shared by X user @Mrdissector, included a graphic styled as an "ICON" magazine cover, ranking the top five richest female African musicians of 2026. According to the list, the 2026 MTV VMAs presenter leads the pack ahead of Tiwa Savage at $13 million, Yemi Alade at $12 million, Angélique Kidjo at $10 million, and Tems at $8 million.
Is the magazine cover legit?
Sharp-eyed users were quick to point out red flags. The magazine cover carries an "October 2024" issue date despite supposedly reflecting 2026 figures, and contains a spelling error in its cover text referring to her as the "richest fenale" in Africa. These details led many to conclude the image was AI-generated or fabricated to drive engagement on the platform.

@Shege2U was unconvinced by the rankings themselves:
"Tiwa Savage being richer than Tems shows this is fake and you are not smart enough to do a proper job lol"
@Abelpter went a step further, suggesting the post could actually harm Tyla's reputation:
