DJ Shimza has finally got his wish. After publicly joking that he couldn't wait to meet Nota Baloyi in person to "search his pockets," the South African disc jockey did exactly that — and filmed the whole thing.

Shimza posted the clip on X on 26 September 2026, showing the two men together inside what appears to be a moving vehicle, with a multi-level parking structure visible through the window. The mood in the car was playful and lighthearted, with laughter clearly audible throughout the short clip.

The defamation case behind the joke

The backstory dates back to a defamation lawsuit Shimza filed against Nota. The High Court ruled in Shimza's favour and ordered Nota to pay R200,000 in damages, along with legal costs. Nota made partial payments amounting to roughly R87,500 but never settled the remaining balance or outstanding legal fees.

Because the full debt was left unpaid, Shimza's legal team obtained a writ of execution, a legal instrument allowing them to attach and seize Nota's assets to recover what was still owed.

The public tension between the two escalated further when Zakes Bantwini shared a video of himself and Nota laughing together, which went viral after Nota had previously taken shots at Zakes online. Many felt Nota's confident social media persona faltered the moment he was in someone's physical presence. Shimza watched the clip and quipped that he, too, wanted to meet Nota face to face to check those pockets. Now he has.
