Somizi Mhlongo has once again found himself at the centre of a heated conversation after giving a listener some brutally candid advice on his radio segment, Ask A Man.
During the session on 19 October 2026, an anonymous female caller opened up about her five-year relationship, which has recently turned into a long-distance arrangement after she lost her job and was forced to move back home.
The caller dropped a massive bombshell, revealing that at the beginning of the year, she discovered her partner was actually married to someone else - having paid lobola for another woman before their five-year relationship even began. To make matters more complicated, she revealed that his family is fully aware of both her and his wife.
Although she wants to walk away, her partner has been desperately begging her to stay. She shared that he was recently diagnosed with stress and suffered a mild stroke - health scares he claims were brought on by her threats to leave him. Despite his betrayal, she admitted he has been a great partner throughout their time together, leaving her emotionally trapped.

Somizi's advice: Leave without guilt
Rather than urging the listener to stand by her partner through his illness, Somizi encouraged her to walk away without feeling responsible for his health, being emphatic about why.
"If you decide to leave, you're not leaving because you're a bad person, not because of what he is going through regarding his health - you're leaving because of dishonesty," he said.
He empathised with the caller, suggesting that under different circumstances, she would have been a devoted partner.
"I believe you'd still be with him through and through if it wasn't for this. You'd be supporting him, a shoulder to cry on. He was dishonest, and unfortunately, things are falling apart," Somizi told her.
He also pushed back against the idea that the partner's illness should shield him from accountability, stating that despite facing serious health challenges, the man should not "act like a wounded dog" and must own up to what he did.
Taking his advice a step further, Somizi told the listener to block her partner's number. His reasoning was practical and emotionally charged: he did not want her to be in a position where she rings him to end things, only to hear a life-support machine beeping on the other end.
"If you want to leave, leave. He's got his family that will look after him; it's not your responsibility," he added.
Co-host and reality TV star Quinton Masina agreed wholeheartedly with Somizi's firm stance, emphasising that the caller needs to prioritise her own future and move on immediately.
"The sooner she leaves, the better," Masina advised sharply.
He encouraged the caller to cut ties, re-enter the dating world, find a loyal man, and leave her dishonest partner behind to deal with the consequences of his actions.
