How much do container Airbnbs cost?
Footage shared by Kenyan YouTuber Edna depicted the 10 container homes clad with wood on the exterior, giving a refined look.
The investor fully utilised the limited space by setting up a container shop as the perimeter fence. The entrance leads to the reception area, and another gate leads to the rental units.

Some of the apartments’ selling points include a fully fitted kitchenette, a hot shower, high security, ample parking, free Wi-Fi, a washing machine for laundry and a fireplace.
“It is great for escaping the weekday routine and staying in a serene environment,” said Edna.
The container space between the container units is paved with ballast, and potted plants offer a serene environment. The compound comes alive at night with LED lights and has a fireplace.
The interiors of the houses feature modern, minimalist styling. The kitchenette has two burner gas, enough storage in cabinets, a sink with running water, a microwave and a fridge. Next to the kitchen is the shower with a toilet and sink.
On the other side is a small living space with a sofa set, TV, table and water dispenser. A bed sits at the furthest end of the room.
Guests at the units are charged R260 daily.
“An advantage of container homes is the flexibility - they can be transported to a different location if the owner wants to construct permanent structures on this land,” observed Edna.
Impressed netizens reacted by saying:
