A legal practitioner became a viral sensation for sharing the same name as Mark Zuckerberg. The man tried to use Facebook but ran into a recurring problem.

The lawyer was struggling to use Facebook with his real name to market his law firm. Online users were in stitches over Mark Zuckerberg's namesake's debacle.

Facebook took action against an American lawyer whose name is also Mark Zuckerberg. The man, who is older than Mark Zuckerberg, had his Facebook account blocked for impersonating a celebrity. The man emphasised that he's had the name longer than Mark Zuckerberg and intends to sue the social media platform.

According to Fortune, the lawyer alleges that Meta violated its contract by constantly disabling his Facebook including his commercial accounts. He explained that Meta would still accept payments for ads from Zuckerberg's firm. The lawsuit detailed that Meta shut down the lawyer's pages nine times in eight years and would take four to six months to reactivate the accounts. During that time, Meta kept the R193 654 ($11 000) he spent on ads, and the long periods of absence from Facebook also affected the lawyer's online presence and cost him a competitive edge. He said:

“All my competitors are using the platform to try and get clients, and I paid [Meta] money to [do the same], and then they shut me off again,” he said. “It’s just not fair, and it’s not right.”
