A woman from the United Kingdom shared that people suggested she watch Showmax's Tracking Thabo Bester after Netflix released Beauty and the Bester. The four-part true crime docuseries thrilled the international watcher, who shared a few details she felt Netflix skipped over.
Tracking Thabo Bester shows how journalists from Ground Up unmasked the convicted rapist and murderer's criminal activities, and the alleged involvement of former celebrity medical practitioner Nandipha Magudumana.
Using the TikTok handle @sheiskalifa on her account, the woman gave her opinion about the Showmax special, saying:
"There's so much more that's in this that we have no clue about. The Netflix show touched the surface. I can understand why the people who saw this in live action wanted us to watch this Showmax version."

South Africans say their say
Several local members of the online community joined the conversation, sharing their thoughts about the case that shocked many South Africans. Other social media users recommended additional local docuseries for the woman to explore.
@therealjoelle_ said to internet users:
"You guys are shocked watching the series. Imagine how shocked we were as we watched it unfold live! I will never forget the day the picture of him shopping with Nandipha went viral. That's the picture that brought all the pieces of the puzzle together."
@shandoll88 exclaimed to the public:
"I was left more confused after watching the Netflix documentary because they left out so many details!"
@dioncatheauthor, who had the same thoughts, shared:
"I want to see a different perspective of this because deep down I feel like Netflix left a lot out because I had so many unanswered questions."
While some online users refused to view Nandipha as a victim, @glodinem remarked:
"I'm glad there are women who understand that she was a victim. Stockholm syndrome scenario. She had no option of leaving because of the power and financial muscle he had while in jail, which made it easy for him to cover his tracks and buy the justice system."
@thah_mthiyo added under the post:
"Bester could have done very well as a modelling agency. He had potential. He self-sabotaged by choosing to use this approach to lure women for his criminal acts. 12 years later, he could have been the best in the industry."
@shoziiy23 told the British woman:
"Chomie, when you’re done watching 'Tracking Thabo Bester,' please binge-watch 'Rosemary's Hitlist.'"
