A young woman has sparked concern and disbelief online after a prank involving fake braces took a painful and unexpected turn.

In a now-viral video, the content creator who goes by the TikTok handle @ula_mwelase revealed that she had installed imitation braces using glue, only to discover that the DIY stunt had gone disastrously wrong.

@ula_mwelase explained that she had applied the fake braces for fun, thinking it would be an entertaining idea for social media content. However, things quickly took a dangerous turn when the braces refused to come off. In the clip, she showcased the glued-on brackets stuck tightly to her teeth, visibly amused as she attempted to remove them.

Her situation worsened when she revealed that one of her teeth had broken during her attempt to pry the braces off. @ula_mwelase also admitted that she hadn’t anticipated the consequences, and she began to rethink her choices. She then filmed herself trying to detach the braces, which failed.

Viewers expressed immediate concern, with many urging her to seek urgent dental care. Social media users flooded the comments section, warning others not to attempt such stunts and highlighting the risks of using non-dental products for cosmetic purposes.

The fake braces trended in some parts of the world, and the TikTok user @ula_mwelase decided to try them out. The incident that was posted on 29 October 2025 has since become a cautionary tale about the risks of online trends and DIY dental hacks.
