A young South African boy named Elian is moving hearts across the world. Seated in his wheelchair, the five-year-old calmly recited Psalm 139:13–17 from a piece of paper, speaking about being "fearfully and wonderfully made." The video was shared on 13 August 2026 by passionate Christian preacher @joel.cauley on his Instagram account, showing him viewing Elian's video on his online platform, Simple Hope.
A five-year-old with a message bigger than his age
The clip did more than share scripture. It wove together moments from Elian's life, from when he was a newborn in hospital, through to scenes of him playing, laughing, and moving through the world in his wheelchair with a smile that is impossible to ignore. The pairing of those personal moments with the ancient words of the Psalm gave the video a quiet, undeniable power.
