A video of a bulldozer tearing down a house in Zimbabwe stopped thousands of people mid-scroll on 25 August 2026. TikTok user @ernestbossmasend posted the clip with a caption in Shona that read: "Oh God, what have the children of Zimbabwe done wrong?".

The footage spread rapidly after reports emerged that Zimbabwe's president had claimed the land on which the demolished homes stood as his own. Residents appeared to have little recourse as the structure came down.
