A Port Elizabeth primary school has been left heartbroken after the passing of one of its learners. Kabega Primary School shared the devastating news on 1 September 2026, announcing that young Jaylan Scheuble-Thysse had passed away.

The school's Facebook post extended its deepest condolences to Jaylan's parents, family, teachers and friends. Staff remembered him as a kind, respectful and wonderful boy whose presence made a lasting impression on those around him. The school wrote, signing off with a dove and blue heart emoji.
