Nelisiwe Mxokezeli, a South African woman, turned heads on TikTok after posting a grocery haul that had budget-conscious shoppers rushing to their nearest Food Lovers Market. Her video, shared on 15 September 2026, showed a counter full of fresh produce, meat and fruit she had picked up during a R20 special at the store.

The haul was impressive. For R20 each, Nelisiwe walked away with three packets of broccoli, two cabbages, two 1kg bags of carrots, two 700g portions of bananas, two oranges, a packet of apples, two containers of chicken livers, two pork chops, two beef burger patties, 250g of strawberries and a punnet of blueberries. She bought several items in double quantities, picking up an extra set for her mother-in-law.

A few items fell just outside the R20 bracket but were still priced low. Two 1kg packets of tomatoes came to R33 each, a pair of items cost R30, and a large bag of sweet potatoes was R27. The total for everything on the special came to R417.

She also picked up mutton sausages for R100 and two packets of ground beef. Each ground beef packet was R100 individually, but buying two brought the price down to R150, saving her R50. Her grand total for the entire shop was R668.14.
