A Cape Town woman is giving young South Africans a head start in life, one driving lesson at a time, all out of her own pocket. On 19 September 2026, TikTok user @thabie796 posted a clip that quickly resonated with thousands across Mzansi. In the video, she introduced a young student behind the wheel, praised her progress, and then extended an open invitation to other young people to get in touch with her for driving lessons at no cost whatsoever.

What made Thabie's gesture stand out was the generosity behind it. She made clear that she uses her own car, covers the cost of petrol herself, and gives up her personal time, purely because she wants to help. She asked for nothing in return, stating that empowering the youth was reason enough.
