A group of kids from Daveyton caused a stir online after their video, in which they threw buckets of water at people to celebrate a spring day, made it online.
The clip, shared by TikTok user @jabu.motholo.za, garnered massive comments from social media users lambasting their behaviour and lack of respect for older people.
The video shows a group of kids stationed in a busy spot in Daveyton, a township in Johannesburg, throwing buckets of water on everyone who passed by. The kids were also seen throwing water on a pitbull that was on the owner's leash. They also threw water on a guy who was coming from work with his backpack on. When he told them not to, they waited for him to walk away and threw water on his back, leaving him furious.

Daveyton residents show their unhappiness
The teenagers' disrespectful actions were a huge source of anger for social media users. The video also showed them throwing water on an older woman who was carrying a child. When another mother spoke against the action, one of the kids was seen holding her as others gathered around her.

Mzansi debates the youngsters' behaviour
The video went viral, with many social media users saying that the children's actions were pure disrespect. Many said that the act was an old tradition that was only played with those who were willing to play and not with passersby. They argued that the children were crossing the line.
Some warned that the kids were going to damage people's phones and important documents, as they were even throwing water at people's bags. Others wondered if the pitbull had been released to attack one of them, saying they were playing with fire.
