In a video that has since gone viral, the woman was asked by a host to share the craziest thing she had ever done in the name of love. With a nervous laugh, she initially warned the host by saying,

"So I literally sold a plot of land just because my then-boyfriend needed a laptop."
The host was visibly taken aback, responding in disbelief:
"Wait, wait, wait, I don’t understand… You sold a plot of land because your boyfriend needed a laptop? No, this is crazy." She laughed it off, later describing it as one of the wildest love stories she had ever heard. However, when the woman became emotional and began to tear up, she apologised for her reaction.
The woman then explained in the video that was shared by the host under her TikTok handle @goodybagg that at the time, she was deeply in love and believed in sharing everything with her partner.
"I don’t want to have to talk about this because it was my first love. I’ve never really loved anyone as much as I loved him. I felt like everything I had belonged to him and everything he had belonged to me, but I lied to myself," said the woman in the clip that was posted on 12 September 2025.
She added that her boyfriend desperately needed a laptop, and she thought sacrificing her newly acquired plot of land would make him happy.
"I said, you know what, I might as well just sell it off just to make my man happy," she admitted.
Unfortunately, the relationship did not work out, leaving her to reflect on the costly mistake.
"I thought the feeling was mutual. I didn’t know I was literally just dating myself," she said.
The revelation has divided online users, with some sympathising with her experience of first love, while others criticised the decision as reckless. Many warned against compromising one’s financial stability for relationships that may not stand the test of time.
