Malcolm Wentzel, South African businessman and social media personality, marked his house manager Thembi Ubisi's 59th birthday with a touching moment caught on camera. He shared the video on Facebook on 29 September 2026, and it quickly moved people across the country.
The clip was filmed inside the laundry room of Malcolm's home. He began by singing happy birthday directly to Thembi before the moment turned deeply emotional. Malcolm told her that it was the first time he had ever sung for her, then went on to express just how much she means to him.
"I just want to say I love you. Thank you for everything you do for me. Thank you for being there for me in all the darkest moments in my life. Thank you for being a friend, a mother," he said.
Thembi, visibly moved, responded with equal warmth.

"Thank you for being with me all the time, in bad and good. Thank you for being my friend, my father, my everything. I had a shoulder to cry on. I love you so much," she said.
Malcolm also told Thembi to expect a surprise gift that Saturday at Supersport Park, where he was hosting a MELK Fest event, and encouraged her to bring her friends along.
