Mzansi's beloved dancer, actress and TV presenter Bontle Modiselle has been revealed as the winner of The Masked Singer South Africa Season 3. She performed under the costume of Spotty throughout the season, claiming the coveted Golden Mask trophy on the episode that aired on Saturday, 26 September 2026.
In an emotional moment before the audience, Bontle held back tears as she reflected on what the journey meant to her.
"I had fun and the time of my life, and, you know, the 8-year-old me who was insecure and didn't think she was able or capable was validated for thirteen weeks," she said.
Keeping Spotty's identity a secret
In an exclusive conversation with Briefly News, Bontle opened up about how difficult it was to conceal her identity for the entire run of the competition. With her mother living under the same roof as her and her husband Priddy Ugly, plus a household helper around, discretion was no easy feat.

"The only person who knew was my husband, because of how we had to leave the house completely covered up. So I have to fill him in because there are no trust issues between us," she said, adding that her manager was the only other person let in on the secret.
She gave a warm shout-out to production company Rose and Oaks and to vocal coach Khaya Mthethwa, who guided her through all 13 weeks of rehearsals and performances.
"When this ended, I was sad. Performing was a lot of fun. Being Spotty was incredible. My favourite part was recording and performing," she added.

Could music be next for Bontle?
Perhaps the biggest revelation from the interview was Bontle's candid admission that fear had kept her away from singing for most of her career. Dance came naturally, followed by acting and presenting, but music always felt out of reach.
"I just felt like if I'm not Beyoncé, I'm not doing it," she confessed. "I may have been overly critical of myself... But still, I'm happy that this happened the way that it did. I might pursue music after this, who knows. This was one of the things that affirmed me and gave me the confidence and the permission to pursue it."
