ETHEKWINI - March and March leader Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma has thrown her weight behind ActionSA ahead of the 4 November 2026 local government elections. The anti-immigration activist called on her supporters and eThekwini residents to cast their votes for ActionSA's mayoral candidate, Zwakele Mncwango.
Jacinta also held an online meeting with ActionSA president Herman Mashaba and MP Dereleen James. The discussion centred on South Africa's immigration crisis and what policies could realistically be implemented to address it.
Jacinta on why ActionSA earned her trust
The endorsement was not impulsive. Jacinta noted that from the earliest days of the March and March movement, ActionSA stood alongside the organisation and offered support. She expressed confidence that Mncwango is the right person to steer eThekwini through its current challenges.

"Please, let's put people who put us first.March and March will always root for people who put South Africans first and will stop the corruption ravaging our people,"she said.
Mashaba has built his political brand around a hardline immigration stance, campaigning on a "Put South Africa First" platform. He has consistently called for strict border enforcement, mass deportations of undocumented immigrants, and the creation of specialised municipal police units to tackle illegal immigration. He has also previously attended March and March protests, making the alignment between the two a natural one in the eyes of many observers.
With the November elections approaching, political parties across the country are making their final pitch to voters, and ActionSA is clearly working to consolidate support in KwaZulu-Natal.

Mncwango moves from DA to ActionSA
Previously, Briefly News reported that ActionSA welcomed former Democratic Alliance leader Zwakele Mncwango with a shiny new position.Mncwango left the leading opposition party last week after resigning as the DA's representative in the KwaZulu-Natal legislature. ActionSA, on Monday, 17 October, announced that Mncwango would be joining the party as the provincial chairperson in KwaZulu-Natal, a position that has been vacant for months.
