A short clip filmed inside the Durban High Court on Thursday, 13 August 2026, has left South Africans furious after showing the Ndimande Brothers laughing and chatting casually in the dock during pre-trial proceedings.
The seven accused face charges of conspiracy to commit murder, two counts of murder, and firearm-related offences linked to the deaths of rapper Kiernan "AKA" Forbes and chef Tebello "Tibz" Motsoane. The footage, captured handheld inside the wood-panelled courtroom dock, shows the group interacting in a relaxed, almost jovial manner, completely at odds with the gravity of the charges they face.
AKA murder trial set for October 2026
The trial was originally scheduled to begin on 20 July 2026 but was pushed back. The accused are now set to stand trial from 5 October to 8 November 2026, with an additional session pencilled in for 5 October 2026. Thursday's appearance was part of the pre-trial process ahead of those dates.

Inquest into Anele Tembe's death gets new dates
Meanwhile, Briefly News reported that an inquest into Anele Tembe's death was postponed after the magistrate presiding over the matter experienced a medical emergency.
The inquiry was originally scheduled to run from 13 to 15 July 2026 in the Cape Town Magistrate's Court, with new court dates set for September 2026.
