SOUTH AFRICA — A quick-thinking shop employee left an armed robber trapped inside a store after she calmly sealed him in, with surveillance footage of the incident going viral on X.

The CCTV clip, shared on X by user @dspkemo, was recorded on a "Channel2" surveillance camera inside a small shop with a glass-door entrance and a security garage door. It has attracted thousands of views and hundreds of comments.

Employee turns tables on suspect

In the footage, the armed suspect enters through the glass door and moves directly towards the service counter, prompting the employee to step back and distance herself. Rather than fleeing in panic, she walks calmly toward the exit. When the suspect questions what she is doing, her reply is inaudible on the recording. She then shuts the glass door and activates the security garage door, effectively sealing him inside.
