Toni Kroos surprised the football world with his announcement to retire at the end of the 2023/24 season.

The midfielder, who defined an era at Real Madrid by forming a dynamic and highly productive midfield trio with Luka Modric and Casemiro, opted against extending his contract with the La Liga club despite having an offer on the table.

The 34-year-old, who had his final football career end with a defeat against the Spanish national team at the UEFA Euro 2024 tournament, has since shifted his attention to his academy and other private matters.

However, despite Kroos announcing his retirement, the former midfielder is not far from the spotlight.

In a recent interview, the former Bayern Munich star named the players he dubbed as his favourites during his 10-year stint at Real Madrid.

Toni Kroos names his favourite Real Madrid players

Speaking in an interview captured by Madrid Universal, the German icon discussed the players he played alongside at the La Liga club.

When asked about his three favourite teammates, the 34-year-old said:

“I wouldn't be fair because I would exclude someone. But if I had to mention three, they are [Cristiano] Ronaldo, [Sergio] Ramos, and [Luka] Modric. The fourth is [Carlos] Casemiro; he helped me a lot as well."

Kroos achieved a significant portion of his career trophies while playing with Ronaldo and Ramos, who left Real Madrid in 2018 and 2021, respectively.

The midfielder also shares a very cordial relationship with Modric, whom he admires greatly.

Kroos won a total of 24 major trophies during his playing career with Real Madrid.

Briefly News, in another report, detailed that Messi omitted Jude Bellingham from his Ballon d’Or favourites list.

The Argentine maestro identified a flurry of other players, including Vinícius Jr and Kylian Mbappe, when naming his favourites for the prize.
