"David Coote’s actions were found to be in serious breach of the provisions of his employment contract, with his position deemed untenable," PGMOL said in a statement

An important aspect of the statement said they will continue offering their support to the referee.

Coote first coached in the Premier League in April 2018 and was promoted to the top level. He refereed the 2023 Carabao Cup final, and his last Premier League game was Liverpool's 2-0 win over Aston Villa.

Coote faces scrutiny for alleged Klopp comments

Briefly News earlier reported that a video surfaced allegedly showing Premier League referee David Coote making offensive remarks about Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp. In the clip, Coote purportedly refers to Klopp as a "German c*nt" and "arrogant," accusing him of dishonesty following Liverpool's 2020 match against Burnley.

The controversial video reportedly recorded years ago, has sparked discussions about professionalism within officiating circles. The fallout from the revelations could have serious implications for Coote's career and his relationship with key figures in football management.
