Abdeslam Ouaddou Told How to Unlock Radiopane’s Potential at Orlando Pirates
Orlando Pirates head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has been given an advice on how to get the best out of Bafana Bafana striker, Boitumelo Radiopane.
The South African international is yet to find the back of the net this season despite being the preferred choice for the Moroccan tactician to lead the attack.
"The young man, Radiopane, needs to learn a bit from Makgopa—he’s starting to assist too much instead of focusing on scoring," Mere said on the TimesLIVE Video YouTube channel.
"In the quarter-finals, he set up Appollis, and now he’s dropping too deep. He’s the one passing to players like Appollis—so who’s going to finish the chances? Leave that to the midfielders. Stay in the box where you belong."
"He likes to be on the ball a lot and gets frustrated when he doesn’t have it, so he starts chasing the ball," Mere added.
"But once a striker does that, it makes my job as a defender easier. I’ll let you receive the ball deep—it’s fine—because eventually, you’ll have to come into my zone."
