The South African international has been linked with a move away from the Soweto giants since the summer transfer window opened, but the Sea Robbers are reportedly not interested in letting the youngster leave.

Pirates let go of Mohau Nkota this summer, with the Bafana Bafana winger joining Saudi Pro League side Al-Ettifaq for an undisclosed fee. He recently marked his debut with a goal.

Pirates coach Ouaddou told there’s more to achieve despite winning MTN8 title

Several clubs in Africa, Asia (Middle East), and Europe have shown serious interest in signing Mofokeng, with the biggest club said to be FC Barcelona. However, he’s still with the Premier Soccer League giants.

Pirates told to sell Mofokeng this Summer

Sports journalist Uche Anuma, while sharing his thoughts during an exclusive chat with Briefly News after Orlando Pirates won the MTN8 final against Stellenbosch FC, discussed Mofokeng's performance.

"He had a great performance against Stellenbosch FC, showing that he’s getting back to his best, like he used to be," he said.
"You can see glimpses of the magic he usually shows, unlike his poor outings in other games he's been featured in. He also lost his place in the Bafana Bafana squad due to a poor start."

Anuma then advised Pirates to consider selling Mofokeng to a team abroad this summer before the transfer window closes, stating the reason behind his suggestion.

"Pirates need to make the decision to sell Mofokeng before summer. As I always say, this is just my opinion based on what I see, and I might end up being wrong, but I’m trying to be realistic," he added.
"Mofokeng will fetch the club more money now that he’s young and can explore other leagues, just like Nkota is doing in the Saudi Pro League.
"The youngster also needs that exposure to take his football career to another level. As much as the fans want to keep some of the South African talents in the PSL, the truth is that some of them would have to leave, as they need to grow beyond the local league and compete with their peers on the international stage."

Ex-Pirates star speaks on Mofokeng's form

Briefly News also reported that a former Pirates star and Mohau Nkota shared their thoughts on Relebohile Mofokeng's poor form this season.
