The Tunisian tactician joined the Glamour Boys last summer, leading them to the Nedbank Cup final and defeating Orlando Pirates to end Amakhosi's 10-year trophy drought.
Nabi didn't start the season with the Soweto giants as he travelled to Tunisia to attend to a family emergency and returned for the game against Mamelodi Sundowns.
Amakhosi started the season on a good note, staying unbeaten until their last match against Sekhukhune United in the Betway Premiership. They stumbled to a 3-1 defeat at the FNB Stadium, with Nabi explaining why his team lost after the match.

Nabi explains why he left Chiefs
Nabi has reportedly confirmed his departure as head coach of Kaizer Chiefs in a recent update trending on social media.
Speaking to winwin.com, he explained: “My exit from Kaizer Chiefs came through a mutual decision with the club’s management after what was both a rewarding and challenging spell.”
The Tunisian coach revealed that he intends to take a step back for personal reasons, saying, “At the moment, I need to rest, dedicate more time to my family, and be present for my wife, whose health has required my constant attention recently.”

Nabi acknowledged that several clubs have already approached him, but insisted that he isn’t ready to enter into any negotiations at the moment: “Yes, I’ve been contacted by several big teams in Africa and the Arab world, but I won’t be entering any negotiations right now. My priority is to take a short break and recharge.”
Kaizer Chiefs have remained silent about Nabi's exit saga, as they are currently focused on their next match against Angolan side Kabuscorp S.C.P. in the first leg of the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round. They qualified for the CAF competition after emerging as winners of the Nedbank Cup last season.
The Glamour Boys need to beat the Angolan side for a chance to make it into the group phase of the competition. They, alongside Stellenbosch FC, are the two teams representing the South African league in the tournament this season.

Briefly News also reported that Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed the signing of a South African international before the summer transfer window closes in a few days.
The Bafana Bafana star's arrival takes the Soweto giants' new signings this summer to over ten players.
