The Tunisian tactician didn't start the season with the Glamour Boys as he travelled back home to attend to a family emergency and returned during Amakhosi's clash with Mamelodi Sundowns.
Kaizer Chiefs released an official statement to confirm they are in talks with Nabi over the coaching role at the club.

The 49-year-old manager recently parted ways with the Angolan national team, ending an eight-year spell that saw him enjoy considerable success with the Palancas Negras.
Following his departure from the Angolan national team, Goncalves has reportedly attracted interest from Egyptian heavyweights Al Ahly, who recently parted ways with ex-Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro, as well as Kaizer Chiefs, who are edging closer to a split with Nabi.
Goncalves has a good coaching CV as he is a double COSAFA Cup champion with Angola, and his last one came when his team faced South Africa in the final, and they thrashed Bafana Bafana B side 3-0 in the final.

"I hope they continue with the available technical team...with one assuming the role if head coach."
Mo_09 shared:
"I have seen enough of Nabi that I would welcome this man. No one can do worse than Nabi. Before someone says Nedbank Cup, that was pure luck. He couldn't handle my team, promised and promised..."

"History has proved that no South African coaches can win us Trophies. Bring him @KaizerChiefs."
Keketso Maloba said:
"Angimazi, so for that fact, I want him!!! I don't want a known coach Mina, let him come 😎."
Masixole reacted:
"This is how we ended up with Nabi. Uzobona soon we will have KC accounts pushing for this guy bengazange babukela even five minutes of his team(s)."
Thokozani_Si added:
"This actually makes sense given Chiefs' relationship with Pedro and their raid of the Portuguese market this window."
European coach linked with Chiefs
Briefly News earlier reported that a European coach is keen on replacing Nabi at Kaizer Chiefs this summer.
