Thulasizwe Siphiwe Dambuza, popularly known as Lasizwe, is a prominent South African actor, media personality, TV host, YouTuber, and social media influencer. He gained fame through his comedic skits and relatable characters on social media and has since expanded his career into television, hosting shows and appearing in films and series.

Career

Lasizwe began his career creating online content, specifically comedic skits and characters on YouTube, where he quickly garnered a large following. He successfully transitioned from an online content creator to a television star. He has appeared on MTV Base Africa's "You Got Got" as a main presenter, and also presented on SABC 3's "The Scoop Africa" and SABC 1's "The Real Goboza." In 2018, he hosted e.tv's youth show "Craz-e World Live" and VOOV TV's "VOOVScoop." In 2019, his own reality show, "@Lasizwe: Fake It till You Make It," premiered.

He also starred in the Netflix movie "Seriously Single" (2020) and hosted the SABC 1 and Telkom music show "Telkom Monate Vibes" (2020). More recently, he made cameo appearances in "Durban Gen" (2022) and the Netflix series "Savage Beauty" (2022). In 2023, he was a contestant on "LOL: Last One Laughing South Africa" and the winner of "The Perfect Picture." In 2024, he was part of the panel for "The Showmax Roast of Minnie Dlamini." He has also secured brand deals with companies like Fanta, GAME Stores, Telkom, and Steers.

Family

Lasizwe's mother was Lindiwe Dambuza (who passed away in 2016), and his father is Menzi Mcunu. His half-sister is the well-known media personality Khanyi Mbau. He also has a sister named Zonke Nkabinde.

Dating history

In August 2021, he shared an experience where a boyfriend he had dropped off at the airport for a trip to Cape Town was later seen in Johannesburg. He has also had conversations about wanting to date and his dating experiences on his YouTube show "Awkward Dates."
