Lamiez Holworthy is a skilled South African DJ and TV personality who has become famous for hosting the SABC 1 music show, Live AMP. She began her career as an underground DJ in 2010 and later became a popular TV host and presenter. She has also produced her own music and released her debut single, “Sthokoze”, in 2021. She is also known for her philanthropic work through her foundation.
Career
Holworthy started her career as an underground DJ in 2010, learning and mastering the art of mixing. She faced some challenges along the way, such as having her car vandalized and her DJ equipment stolen during an audition. However, she did not give up on her passion and continued to pursue her dream.
She got her first TV job as a guest presenter on KMTV on Soweto TV. She then hosted the lifestyle show Living The Dream on Tshwane TV. In 2018, she landed her biggest role as the host of Live AMP on SABC 1, replacing Lerato Kganyago. She has also co-hosted the Metro FM dance show Penthouse Session with Lulo Cafe since April 2021.
In addition to her TV and radio work, Holworthy has also produced her own music. She released her debut single, “Sthokoze”, featuring The Lowkeys and Drip Gogo, in August 2021. The song is a fusion of Amapiano and House genres. She was also nominated for Best Amapiano Female DJ Act at the South African Amapiano Awards in 2021.
Personal life
Lamiez Holworthy married rapper Khuli Chana (born Khulane Morule) in 2019. They have a son together named Leano-Laone Zion Morule (born in 2023). Holworthy is also a stepmother to Khuli Chana’s daughter from a previous relationship named Nia Lesika Morule.
