A resurfaced clip of Zimbabwean prophet Passion Java has set the internet alight following the tragic death of flamboyant businessman Wicknell Chivayo, with thousands debating whether Java genuinely predicted the crash or whether the claim is a stretch too far.
Chivayo, who would have turned 46 in November, died alongside his wife Lucy when their helicopter went down in a rural area near Marondera on Wednesday evening, 30 September 2026. The aircraft was carrying six occupants, including two pilots, and was reportedly en route to Harare when it crashed at around 5 p.m. Family spokesman Herbert Chivayo confirmed the deaths, while Zimbabwe Republic Police national spokesman Commissioner Paul Nyathi issued a statement confirming the crash and noting that more details would follow as authorities attended the scene. A source familiar with the accident described the crash site as a scene of "absolute carnage," with bodies and wreckage scattered across the area.
Passion Java clip divides the internet
Against this devastating backdrop, an old video of Passion Java speaking cryptically resurfaced on X, posted by LynneStactia and quickly gaining traction. The on-screen caption in the clip claims the prophecy was accurately fulfilled. In the footage, filmed outdoors in what appears to be a garden or park setting, Java delivers a rambling and somewhat unclear monologue touching on homes and places, with no direct mention of a crash or death.

The clip appears to date back to around 2016 or 2017, and its renewed circulation has split online communities sharply between those who believe Java has genuine prophetic gifts and those who argue the video is too vague to constitute a real prediction.
Zimbabwe
Reactions poured in from across the region, with opinions ranging from reverent to deeply sceptical.
@Arch_Sylvester said:
"Too much ma funnies, but this man can see; I remember him predicting that Ferran Torres (7) will score and Spain will win the World Cup, but people thought he was talking about Portugal due to the similar red colour on their jerseys"
@Boi_Genesis1303 offered:
"Java has never missed a prophecy; people just don't understand his humour."
@InfiniteSanctus took a more spiritual angle:
"God is actually sending a message to the well-established Prophets who received gifts. The Prophets ought to return to the True ways of God, stop associating & dining with the oppressive and corrupted. For the love of riches of this world corrupts their souls & the Spirit"
@Vera_zw was blunt:
"It's not prophecy if he's a part of the squad that 'makes things happen'."
@kmjagu was equally dismissive:
"This is a vague prediction, sis. It's almost obvious that if you like both Zanu PF and flying, your end is an accident-related death."
@OneLuto went further, writing:
"This was nothing about prophecy; it was an elimination plan."
Wicknell Chivayo’s final post raises eyebrows

In the post, Chivayo gifted lawyer Wilson Manase a 2026 Lexus GX 550 worth $220,000 and $250,000 cash, and Advocate Sylvester Hashiti a Range Rover Sport and $500,000.
