- Makhadzi was snubbed by the SAMAs this year and it seems her fans will not be taking it lying down
- Taking to social media, many Makhadzi fans raged over how the awards seem to have an aversion to artists from Limpopo
- This comes after Limpopo-born Master KG was also rejected after he submitted Jerusalema for consideration
Makhadzi was snubbed by the South African Music Awards (SAMAs) this year. The artist shared her disappointment on social media and Mzansi has her back. Taking to social media, many fans pointed out that the awards authority has snubbed two Limpopo artists in a row.
Last year, Master KG was snubbed for his Jerusalema track and this year, the Limpopo-born Makhadzi received the same treatment.
Social media users weighed in online:
“It's clear, #SAMA27 hates Limpopo. First it was Master KG with Jerusalema. Now Makhadzi. When is all this going to end?”
“Makhadzi gets snubbed again by the #SAMA27 after giving us one of the best albums last year, she was supposed to be the most nominated artist this year...”
“I don't like what they're doing to Makhadzi, she submitted to the SAMAs but didn't get nominated, with all these good songs?? Na marn.”
“I really feel sorry for Makhadzi, imagine working hard and not get recognised then booooom, Boity gets recognised just because she is 'Boity'... hai bophelo ke dijo tsa Uncle Tito.”
“I'm not a fan of Makhadzi's music but what the #SAMA27 did is disrespectful. This woman puts blood and sweat into her music, she deserves respect.”
Meanwhile, Briefly News previously reported that Mzansi singer Makhadzi did not receive a nomination for a South African Music Award (SAMA) and is disappointed about this situation. Makhadzi took to social media to let her followers know that he submitted everything that was required but maybe they didn't like her music.
"I submitted SAMAs nomination forms but unfortunately maybe I didn’t meet their requirements," she tweeted.
The SAMAs have released their nominations for all categories and Mzansi has been reacted to the news on social media. Makhadzi has had a good run so far and her fans are confused about why she wasn't even considered for a single award.
Social media users reacted to Makhadzi's tweet and a few offered her some words of comfort so she can deal with the situation.
