SABC 1's popular soapie Uzalo has reached one million followers on Instagram and made history both for the show and South African entertainment.
Uzalo is the first South African soap opera to reached one million and the producers and actors celebrated accordingly by posting videos and pictures on the social media platform.

Premise of the show
Uzalo is a story of two young men who live in Uzalo and life unfolds around them with young people and older people reacting to what happens.
According to the show, the "bold and authentic narrative that tells the story of two family dynasties and the two young men who carry their hopes and legacies as they face the complexities of money, family and love".
Earlier, Briefly News reported that Nelisa Mchunu loved to play her character of Fikile on Uzalo. Apparently, the stunner was not happy when she was told her character's storyline had come to the end of the road.
Nelisa's character was allegedly written off after producers couldn't continue with her storyline. She reportedly begged to stay on the popular SABC 1 telenovela but producers could not save her.
Daily Sun reports that their sources told them that the actress begged producers to find a way to turn things around when she was informed that her character was about to exit the show.
