Siyabonga was born in Orlando East Soweto. How old is Siyabonga Sepotokele? Siya was born on 23rd October 1996, and therefore, he is 23 years old now.
Siya is the son of Shadrack Ta Sello Ntsibande and the late Phyllis Sepotokele. Both his parents were unemployed, but they ensured he got everything he needed. In January 2017, Siya's mother succumbed to cervical cancer. His mother's death occurred two months after he got his first acting role as Le-hasa on Keeping Score. There has been no mention of his siblings so far.

After his elementary education in Sivuleleni Primary School, Siya joined Zifuneleni Junior Secondary School in Soweto. He was actively involved in the two famous Soweto Choirs while in high school. He was an excellent student not only in his co-curricular activities but also in his academics.
At the age of 15 years, he attained a full scholarship from St. David's Marist Inanda, a prominent Johannesburg based private high school to pursue his high school education.
After completing his high school education, he joined Wits University to pursue a career in music. After a few months at the university, he stopped attending classes. He felt conflicted and decided to leave music.
He went ahead to pursue a career in acting, even though it was a great disappointment to his parents seeing him quit school for the theatre.

Acting career
After quitting his music studies, Siyabonga started auditioning for various roles. Luckily, he landed his first gig on the film dubbed Keeping Score, a SABC 2 telenovela. He starred the role of Lehasa, the youngest son to Mmamosa who inherited his mother's mind for money, sex appeal, and looks.

New role
At the moment, Sepotokele stars in two shows. He plays the two dubious roles of Mac'able on Impilo: The Scam and Karabo on The Republic. His first role, Mac'able, is a school dropout dating a younger school girl. He uses his gun to scare off all the schoolboys who seem to be interested in her.
His second role, Karabo, is the president's bodyguard who does not wear the white hat. He goes on to leak information on the president's whereabouts, thus putting her in danger. Siya is having a great time playing Karabo since the president in the show is Florence, the woman who discovered his acting talent.

Even though he quit his studies in music, his talent as a singer still stands out. In 2013, Siyabonga Raymond Sepotokele singing expertise was seen during the Lovermore Yamaha music competition, which was hosted by Roedean School every year.
The competition focuses on classical repertoire and participation solely to candidates undertaking external music examination. The opening round of the competition took place on 3rd June where he performed two pieces. Siyabonga Sepotokele songs during the competition were Where e'er You Walk and Not While I'm Around.
During the final round of the competition, he delivered an outstanding performance, which saw him take home R3,500 in vouchers from Lovermore Music.
