- Jada and Smith had previously separated for seven years, but she disclosed that the separation is not final
- Jada said that she and Will would stay by each other's side, come what may, adding that they were happy
- Although their relationship had been marred by several scandals leading up to their separation, they had never divorced
American actress Jada Pinkett Smith has revealed that she will stay married to Hollywood actor Will Smith despite their differences.
Jada Pinkett and Will Smith's separation
The couple, who have been married for 25 years, have been separated for seven of them, which she opened up about in an interview with People Magazine.
"I think we were both stuck in our fantasy of what we thought the other person should be,” she said.
However, the two are not legally divorced, with Jada saying she has been unable to get herself to do it.
"I made a promise that there will never be a reason for us to get a divorce. I haven't been able to break that promise," the 52-year-old said.
Jada's update on relationship with Will
Now the actress says she and Will will be together for life.
According to an article by Entertainment Weekly, Jada disclosed the surprising news in a preview clip from The Drew Barrymore Show.
“I feel like maybe your and his shadow separated in a way in this book, whether they stay together forever or not,” Barrymore says in the clip. “It sounds like you’re staying together forever.”
“We’re staying together forever. I tried. We tried,” Jada responds, alluding to the couple’s several years apart.
Jada and Will have become infamous for publicly washing their dirty linen with daunting revelations and confessions.
Will Smith, Duane Martin's affair allegations
Recently, Briefly News reported Will was accused of having had an affair with Duane Martin, his co-star in the sitcom All of Us.
A man known as Brother Bilal, who claimed to be a former assistant to the actor, said that Smith and Duane were involved in inappropriate activities in a dressing room years ago.
"I opened the door to Duane’s dressing room and that’s when I saw Duane and Will together. There was a couch and Will was bent over the couch and Duane was standing up, killing him, murdering him. It was murder in there.”
However, TMZ reported that a reliable source mentioned that Will is contemplating taking legal action to address the serious and baseless accusations made by Bilaal.
The actor's team is determined to refute the claims and protect Smith's reputation against what they consider to be a fabricated and damaging narrative.
“This story is completely fabricated and the claim is unequivocally false,” the rep said.
It remains to be seen whether Jada will make good on her promise and whether the pair will truly stick it out long-term.
