Social media user @ThisIsColbert shared a clip of Malesela Teffo speaking during an episode of the Politically Incorrect Podcast, which premiered on Monday, 21 July 2025. In the clip, Teffo told the host Mashiane that Mawela had sent a letter of demand.
“Yesterday, I received a letter through my email. It’s a letter of demand from the lawyer of the former Provincial Commissioner of Gauteng, Lieutenant General Mawela, because I disclosed, I said his name in relation to the drug cartel. He’s a part of the drug cartel,” Teffo said.
While he didn’t reveal details of the letter of demand, Teffo said Mawela ordered him and MacG to withdraw their statements and for Teffo to stop mentioning his name on podcasts. Teffo claimed this was an attempt to silence and intimidate him.

“On that basis, they want me and MacG’s podcast, 'Podcast and Chill', to withdraw. We must desist from defaming the name of his client, who is referring to the former provincial commissioner Mawela. Now that I see it as intimidation. They see that they are under siege, so he’s trying to intimidate,” Teffo explained.

Here are some of the reactions:
@binkekana argued:
“Teffo doesn’t learn. You can’t make wild accusations, and when people react, you say it’s intimidation. If you believe that what you told the people is true, then provide the evidence. Haaai man be responsible for once Mr Teffo.”
@lenyasalaafrica explained:
“A letter of demand is not intimidation, but holding him accountable. He’ll have to back up his accusations by providing some evidence for his allegations.”
@justmash01 urged:
“Expose them, Teffo, without fear; they are panicking because they know they are guilty as sin.”
@static_an predicted:
“They are going to milk him dry because he's an idiot. You don't just mention names without proof. That GoFundMe is all going to enrich these gangsters; they will sue him to hell.”
@Pushinhardy said:
“I don't see MacG deleting that interview, which is now at 1.1 million views already😗”
