DJ Maphorisa says a surprise African act will perform at the much-anticipated Scorpion Kings Live with Friends concert.

Scheduled for 29 August 2025 at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium, the event will see Porry and his bandmate Kabza De Small deliver what's expected to be an unforgettable, world-class show alongside fellow musicians.

Speaking in an interview on Metro FM on 12 August, Madumane hinted at a mega star who will join them at the anticipated concert:

With a career spanning decades, Porry transitioned from working in a group to establishing a solo career, and went on to work with stars like Kwesta, DJ Zinhle and Busiswa.

Outside of South Africa, he has also been fortunate to collaborate with African stars such as TRESOR, Runtown and Wizkid.

Although he failed to disclose who the African star was, his years-long relationship with Wizkid may be a clue to who to expect on 29 August.

The pair collaborated on Soweto Baby with DJ Bucks, and Porry also joined the Nigerian superstar for his Made in Lagos tour in 2021.

However, Porry's recent pictures with Burna Boy may also hint at the self-proclaimed African Giant's possible return to South Africa after being cancelled. Fans will just have to wait and see for themselves.
