A fellow podcaster has blamed trailblazing podcast host MacG for costing Sol Phenduka his job at Kaya FM.
On Wednesday, 20 August 2025, Sol Phenduka was shockingly suspended by Kaya FM pending the outcome of an internal process. After the Podcast and Chill co-host confirmed that his suspension was linked to the lawsuit filed by Minnie Dlamini, a fellow podcaster chose to blame MacG instead.
MacG blamed for ruining Sol Phenduka's career
On Thursday, 21 August 2025, hours after Sol Phenduka confirmed the duration of his suspension, Nota Baloyi took to his X account and blamed MacG for costing his fellow Podcast and Chill co-host his job at Kaya FM.

Baloyi, who previously commented on Minnie’s threats to take legal action against the duo over comments said during a Podcast and Chill episode, explained why MacG was to blame for Sol Phenduka’s current predicament.
While he has earned a reputation for using his X account to air controversial statements, Baloyi was the voice of reason as he criticised the way MacG handled the Minnie Dlamini issue. Nota suggested that the Podcast and Chill head honcho should have eaten humble pie and negotiated an out-of-court settlement with the former The Wild actress. Baloyi suggested that by not cutting a deal with Minnie, MacG risks losing more, especially if the Equality Court rules in favour of Dlamini. The post was captioned:
“MacG really cost Sol Phenduka his job; all he had to do was settle with Minnie, now he risks losing sponsors if the Equality Court finds him guilty.”

When social media user @BeardedPriest1 asked if there was anything MacG could still do to salvage the situation, Nota Baloyi responded:
“Call her and settle out of court.”
Netizens react after Nota blames MacG for Sol Phenduka's downfall
In the comment section, netizens offered Sol Phenduka legal advice, while others asked if he could countersue Minnie Dlamini for loss of employment. Others defended MacG and argued that Sol Phenduka is an adult and responsible for himself. Several netizens dismissed Nota Baloyi’s bleak prediction that MacG would lose millions if the court ruled against him.
Here are some of the comments:
@Zani_Baccaria asked:
“Can Sol sue Minnie for costing him his job since he didn't say anything?”
@Rele_mawelela suggested:
“Sol's lawyers should argue that comments were protected opinions under free expression, per Burchell, 1985. Also, no proven intent to harass.”
@kingdaflifeSA questioned:
“Were you not supporting him?”
@TT_Straata argued:
“Nota, you speak as if Sol Phenduka is not a full-grown man who cannot make his own decisions or speak out. My only hope is for Sol to be alright money-wise outside of Radio, DJing or podcasting. No wonder he took every gig that came his way.”
@RealMan_dee highlighted:
“They did ‘Podcast and Chill’ without sponsorship, and they were doing it very well. All the sponsors that are part of them came on board knowing who MacG is and what the podcast stands for.”
