DJ Poizen and Chymamusique in Fatal Car Crash, South Africa Distraught As 1 DJ Dies

DJ Poizen left deep house music lovers in South Africa bereaved. The beloved musician was on the road with Chymamusique, and their journey ended badly.

South Africans took to social media to express their sorrow over DJ Poizen. The musician was with another DJ, Collen Mmotla aka Chymamusique, who was severely injured in the crash.

In a post shared by Southern African Music Rights Organisation (SAMRO), they confirmed that composer and DJ Caven Masetla, aka Poizen, passed away in a fatal car crash. A video shared by Vehicle Trackers was allegedly the scene of the car accident. The collision reportedly happened between Mokopane and Polokwane, and a snippet of the scene showed that one vehicle in the crash caught fire.

Chymamusique was also involved in the accident, as he was travelling with DJ Poizen. The hit maker was rushed to the hospital and is reportedly in critical condition in the ICU.

South Africa mourns DJ Poizen

DJ Poizen's death left South Africa's deep house lovers heartbroken. His death inspired fans to look back on his discography. Chymamusique and Poizen also recently worked on a song together titled Don't wait until I'm gone, adding salt to the wound for fans.

Chymamusique was showered with heartfelt messages from people hoping for his speedy recovery. Online users took to social media to reflect on the musicians involved in the car crash. A motorist filmed the car accident scene and said they were traumatised by the sight. See the video of the car crash aftermath below:

South African music producer Chymamusique took to X (Twitter) to discuss his financial hardships. The multi-award-winning DJ said he is not ashamed of his brokenness and opened up about dealing with it.
