Controversial music executive turned podcast host Nota Baloyi stirred social media chatter after he made damning allegations about a prominent female celebrity and her alleged relationship with convicted criminal Thabo Bester.
The Netflix documentary Beauty and the Bester topped social media trending charts after it premiered on Friday, 12 September 2025. South Africans weighed in after Pearl Thusi shared her alleged near-death encounter with Thabo Bester, and Nota Baloyi joined the chat, making bold allegations against the 37-year-old actress.
Nota Baloyi makes damning claims against Pearl Thusi
On Sunday, 14 September 2025, Nota Baloyi took to his official X account and shared a screenshot from Facebook. In the screenshot, a man shared that a popular South African celebrity they had hired to MC the launch of a TV series was arrested because she knew where Thabo Bester allegedly told her where he had buried the body of one of his victims.
In his post, Nota Baloyi alleged he was at the event when the incident happened and that the celebrity in question was Pearl Thusi. He claimed that the actress had Bester’s murder weapon. The post was captioned:
“Like I said, I was there when the police, looking for Thabo Bester, came to arrest Pearl Thusi. She was the MC at an event I was catering for, and in the midst of the drama, my mother watched me light a cigarette to smoke. I think she led them to him, and his murder weapon was with her!”
