In his latest TikTok live session, Pitch, real name Khathutshelo Mangolo, was not wearing any glasses, and he was inundated with questions about his eye. The video went viral, with people offering their opinions.
Responding to a fan, Murumba Pitch revealed that he was diagnosed with a condition called eye tumours when he was two years old. This meant that he had to undergo surgery at that young age.
“The condition affected me a lot growing up. When I was at school, I would ask myself why I looked different from other kids.”

Proving how sensitive this topic is for him, he kindly asked his supporters to refrain from asking him about this in the future.
“It is called an eye tumour. I had my eye operated on when I was two years old because it was infected. Without further damage, it had to be operated on. Please don’t ask again. Now you know what’s going on.”
Mangolo said he outgrew that stage of being insecure, so he had to build his confidence by accepting himself.
“With time, I learned to accept myself, and I started building confidence. That’s how I became the man I am today.”

Why Murumba got booed on stage
While performing in Zimbabwe, at the Julyfest in Kadoma on 18 July 2025, the Isencane Lengane singer was booed off stage. The video went viral, but he quickly addressed it, saying he does not blame the people.
"I don't blame them. Those guys want wild music, whereas my music is softer. They wanted their own sound, like dancehall and reggae. The promoter told me so, they said, 'These people aren't tapped into your market yet, maybe if you started with your hit songs," he told the Podcast and Chill hosts.
Sol Phenduka speaks on Murumba Pitch break up
In a previous report from Briefly News, Sol Phenduka weighed in on the aftermath of the controversial Murumba Pitch split, saying it is heartbreaking to witness.
The podcaster spoke about how the former bandmates have gone on to use their brand name for their independent projects.
"The dudes have split and are both continuing with the name, but as solo artists. The vocalist, who people actually identify as Murumba Pitch, is about to drop a project, but the previous partner has already dropped his project under the same name. All the songs are three-step, no piano, no Murumba Pitch on the vocals."
