Former ‘BBMzansi’ Star Jojo Opens Up About Wanting to End Her Life After Russian Program Scandal

South African reality TV star and singer Karabo "Jojo" Sejojo recently opened up about the struggles and challenges she had faced after the whole Russian Start Program scandal on social media.
According to Daily Sun, the former Big Brother Mzansi finalist, who celebrated purchasing her first home in July 2025, shared during her interview on the Engineer Your Life podcast that the backlash she received and also having her TikTok account banned, like the other influencers, affected her.

"There, was a petition calling to cancel these people, and I was like, I'm not even six months into this industry, and I'm being cancelled. My career is over before it even started.
"The life I've worked many years for is at stake. I tried being a YouTuber and entering singing competitions; they didn't work. Now that I've finally had my big break, people are saying we've never needed you," she said.

Sejojo further spoke about how grateful she is for her parents, who have been there for her during the difficult time. She also mentioned how if it wasn't for them, she would've committed suicide.
Jojo said:
"I decided to go back home. My parents helped me; I think I would've committed suicide that day. That's how deep it was, people think we are crying for numbers and followers, it's not, it."

Karabo "Jojo" Sejojo graduated amid the Russian program saga
While she was affected by the whole saga regarding her involvement in the Russian program, Jojo decided to share some great news on her social media page about her graduation during that difficult time in September 2025.
She posted pictures of her graduation day and captioned them:
"The past two weeks have been some of the heaviest I’ve ever faced. There were moments where it felt like life was coming to an end, like I had no strength left to keep going. But standing here on this day, I am reminded of the power of resilience, prayer, and hard work.
"I poured myself into this journey, and today I get to celebrate the reward. I may have cried, I may have stumbled, but I never stopped moving forward. And for that, I am proud of myself. This is only the beginning. Here’s to many more graduations, many more victories, and many more chapters of growth."
